As of TBC classic 2.5.1, the silk cloth drop rate has been reduced drastically. I tried ogres in Alterac, zero silk after 10 minutes killing. Same for the humans north of the ogres, zero silk. Starting to test other areas, will post more updates if I find any good spots. If anyone finds some as of 2021, please post here.

Farming Silk Cloth in Dungeons While the focus of this guide is on at-level cloth farming, it's worth mentioning a couple of dungeons with good silk farming, as one of them is too good to miss. The middle two wings, Library, and Armory of Scarlet Monastery (34-45) are jam-packed with humanoids. These were always my favorite zones for farming silk off level.

Comment by 9443 Silk Cloth can be farmed fairly easily when level 60 from the "Scarlet Monastery" . If you are grouped and do a 5 man run of SM you will have more than likely obtained a Stack or two of this by the end of the run. You will get even more by having a Level 60 friend run you through it.

I made this Silk Cloth Farming guide to help out players who want to farm the cloths instead of buying them from the Auction House. I decided to search for places with high density of mobs which I can kill and drop .I traveled around Azeroth, and after a while I made a list of places.

Silk Cloth sells anywhere between 5 and 15 gold per stack. The best way to farm it is with a level 50 or higher character who can go into Scarlet Monastery and solo the mobs. However, if you’re level 50, you can probably find something better to farm if you’re just looking to make gold.

93 Silk Cloth 39 Wool 7 blues 2 greens IMO, it's an okay drop rate. Just over half an hour will get you almost 5 stacks of Silk Cloth alone. Not the first place I'd go, but it's definitely not the worst. If you don't need a ton of Silk Cloth, this might be a good place; it's pretty quick to get through. Gnomeregan, Dun Morogh:
